The main throughways Ocean Parkway & Coney Island Ave are lined with many brick apartment buildings built before World War II. It’s always interesting for us to see so much cultural & architectural diversity in Brooklyn as we install flooring throughout the borough.

There’s plenty of shopping in the neighborhood with groceries, dollar stores, bars & eateries. And we’ve been seeing alot of new restaurants & lounges popping up. The main shopping Aves are Coney Island Ave, Ditmas, McDonald & Church Ave.

Another wonderful feature of Kensington is the Ocean Parkway. It was completed in 1880 and connects Prospect Park with Coney Island 5 miles away. Similar to the Eastern Parkway but longer, it is also tree lined & has 8 lanes, 2 of which are pedestrian lanes lined with benches. Ocean Parkway pedestrian path is part of the Brooklyn Queens Greenway spanning 33 miles of continuous pedestrian pathway from Coney Island to Fort Totten Park, Queens. The bicyle path passes through the major parks & parkways including Prospect Park, Eastern Parkway, Highland Park, Forest Park, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Kissena Park & Alley Pond Park.
